We started Montessori Roots because our children deserved better — and so did yours.
How it started
It started, like most good things, with a quiet observation.
Our toddler had a toy box stuffed full — singing, blinking, vibrating, all of it. And every single afternoon, she'd push it aside, wander over to a wooden spoon and a steel mixing bowl, and play for forty minutes straight. Focused. Curious. Calm.
That was the moment we started reading about Maria Montessori. About what 100 years of research has consistently shown: children don't need entertainment. They need invitation. They need real materials in their hands, real challenges to figure out, and the time to do both at their own pace.
We looked at what was in our local toy aisles and what was in our online cart. None of it matched what we were learning. The good stuff existed — somewhere, scattered, expensive, often hidden behind walls of marketing fluff. So we set out to make it easier.
